BNG was founded in 2003 by Paulo Dimas and Jorge Medeira, with a straightforward but ambitious plan: to build NewsGen, the best Web-based Content Management Platform for the Media Industry.
At the time, Microsoft was starting to leverage their Enterprise business through Windows Server 2003, SQL Server 2000 and the .Net 1.1 Platform, and this was the chosen technology on top of which NewsGen 2004 was built.
NewsGen 2006 was later developed with a new architecture using SQL Server 2005 Service Broker, Query Notifications and the Microsoft .Net 2.0 platform. For community-based features like Blogs, Forums or Media Galleries, we integrated the Community Server platform from Telligent, providing our clients a complete solution that allows us to effectively Empower their content.
